Scholarship For Sports Therapy Intern in Canada

WANTED! By The University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada and The Society of Sports Therapists. One BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy student due to graduate in the summer of 2010

THE REWARD

To serve a period of 1 month as an ‘intern’ at the University of Windsor and associated Athletic Therapy areas, between the 14th August – 14th September 2010

THE OPPORTUNITY

1) For one (1) graduating student from a University with which The Society of Sports Therapists has a collaborative agreement, to spend 1 month hosted by the Athletic Therapy Department at the University of Windsor, Canada.

2) To work alongside and with staff within the Athletic Therapy Department as well as to accompanying University teams in training, pre-season and match preparation.

3) To spend one week at a large multidisciplinary sports medicine centre in Windsor and a further week with one of the City of Windsor’s professional sports teams.

4) To spend time at Sheridan College, Toronto integrating with Students and Staff associated with their Athletic Therapy programme as well as visiting professional sports teams in the area.

5) To participate in professional, academic and cultural experiences that will enhance the knowledge, skills and expertise already gained from their BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy Degree.

THE OFFER

Return Air Tickets from the UK to Canada – Provided by The Society of Sports Therapists.

Travel Insurance for the duration of the visit – Provided by The Society of Sports Therapists.

Accommodation in Windsor and Sheridan College for the duration of the visit – Arranged by The University of Windsor, Athletic Therapy Department and Sheridan College.

A financial stipend towards expenses whilst in Windsor– (Final amount to be confirmed)

Access to the recreational and academic facilities of the University of Windsor, as appropriate to students/visiting staff.
