Real Madrid awards University of Kent lecturer with a research grant

Dr. Sakis (Athanasios) Pappous, Senior Lecturer and Course Director of Sport Management, has been awarded a 6.000 €  grant from the nine times Champions League Winners. Real Madrid has appointed the University of Kent lecturer to conduct a study concerning pre-service teachers’ views of including pupils with disabilities in physical education. This study will have an intercultural and interdisciplinary character since data will be obtained from Spain and UK and the research team will consist of academics from two different disciplines: Sport Science and Psychology. The University of Kent team is made up of  Dr. Sofia Stathi (Lecturer in Psychology) and Dr. Sakis Pappous (Senior lecturer in Sports Management). The University of Granada team is made up of Professor Francisco Cruz Quintana (Psychology) and Dr. Carlos J. López Gutiérrez (lecturer in Sports Sciences).
The award was made in the context of the III Official Announcement for Research Grants Real Madrid Chair - Universidad Europea de Madrid
The goal of this research scheme is to:
-“To stimulate university cooperation with the sports world, fostering the creation of new knowledge, while educating about all aspects associated with the world of sports.
-To generate advanced research, the discoveries of which will allow for proper growth and integration of the academic and sports worlds.
-To conduct activities with significant national and international implications.
