Mortar"Sustainable Social Development and the Hosting of Sport Mega-Events"

Dr Athanasios (Sakis) Pappous invites applications for a full-time PhD Scholarship award that will investigate whether the hosting of Sport Mega-Events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games contributes to sustainable social development.

The candidate will have a keen interest in sports management/sport and social sciences and will have developed knowledge of Sport Development and Sport Management at undergraduate level. They will have a general curiosity and willingness to learn new skills and carry out mixed quantitative and qualitative research. Applicants should have a good Honours degree (at least 2.1 or equivalent) in an appropriate subject.
The award is for three years and includes fees (at the home rate) and a maintenance allowance (currently £13,590pa, tax free).
