The ambitious legacy of 2012 Olympics  organizers who promised to get two million more people in England involved in sports and physical activity is proving elusive according to a NY article based on data from Sport England.

The full article can be found here: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/16/sports/olympics/16olympics.html?_r=2&p... ">http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/16/sports/olympics/16olympics.html

This topic, with examples from previous Olympics, is further discussed in an upcoming book chapter signed by Dr. Sakis Pappous from the CSS . This book chapter is titled: “Do the Olympic Games lead to a sustainable increase in grass roots sport participation? A secondary analysis of Athens 2004” and is going to be published on the book : Sustainability and Sport. In J. Savery & K. Gilbert (Eds.) Chicago: Common Ground Publishing.
