2010 Another Successful Year

The Centre for Sports Studies continues to go from strength to strength. I am particularly reminded of that at this time of year when we celebrate the success of our current cohort of students as they graduate in the beautiful surroundings of Rochester Cathedral. The Centre is growing strongly, admitting more students with higher entry grades, recruiting new staff, producing exciting research and developing activities in our brand new facilities at Medway Park.

We aim for the University of Kent to be recognised as one of the leading universities in the UK for the study of Sport. As a Centre we always look for new ways to provide an excellent student experience. We also want to make a difference to our community, both local and the academic. Our plans for Medway Park symbolise this ambition. It provides not only excellent facilities in which we teach and research, but will also host a professional sports injury clinic and sports science service. These will support the local community, athletes and teams whilst providing our students with that vital professional experience to get them jobs. Ultimately, it is our graduates who will shape our reputation. I salute their success, wish them well, and know they will make us proud.
